Events Diary 2010

Team meetings - usually the last Thursday in the month. 7.30p.m. at Halstead Icing, Weavers' Court. ALL WELCOME. (e-mail if you'd like to confirm dates, or call in to Halstead Icing and ask Thelma).

Boot fair - in collaboration with HALSTEAD TOWN FOOTBALL CLUB there'll be a Boot Fair at H.T.F.C., Rosemary Lane, Halstead on the second Sunday of each month from April 11th through to October. Gates open at 9am. For sellers cost £5.00 per car; £8.00 per van. Bar will be open and refreshments will be available.

Local garden competition - entry will open in May, with forms for entry being in Neighbourhood News May, June and July issues, or ask for entry form. There is a first prize in each category, and each entrant will receive a certificate. Categories are; Front Garden; Back Garden non-vegetable; Allotment/Kitchen Garden; Young Persons' Garden or Container; New/Makeover Garden; Basket/Container. There will also be a chance for Neighbourhoods to enter with a category for Neighbourhoods of at least 8 properties - prize will be the Age Concern Shield. This competition helps towards Halstead's Anglia in Bloom and Britain in Bloom awards, so do support this effort. Entry is free, contact us for more details. Judging will be over the weekend of 17th and 18th July.

Anglia in Bloom - judges will visit the Town sometime in the first three weeks of July; more details later.

Britain in Bloom - judges will visit one day in the first week of August. Their tour will last 2 hours, with 15minutes for a presentation and 15 minutes for a photo-call. Further details later.

Plant sale - we shall have a plant stall on Market Hill at the Saturday market on SATURDAY 15th May 2010 from about 8a.m. Bring any 'spare' plants you may wish to donate, or buy some that we have to offer.
